Relais Villa Brioschi introduction
Aprica's Villa Brioschi was constructed as the 19th century was drawing to a close, in the late Art Nouveau style which was in vogue at the time. This elegant residence at the foot of the Italian Alps soon became the chosen mountain retreat of high profile intellectuals, musicians and aristocrats; providing the sumptuous venue for glamorous social gatherings and, in particular, a series of important concerts.
Following meticulous restoration work, presided over by the talented young architect, Monica Poli, Villa Brioschi has been transformed into a luxury "relais", its beautiful Italian Liberty style interiors furnished with rare antiques and family heirlooms. Wonderfully romantic and, at the same time, pleasingly functional, Relais Villa Brioschi's bedrooms offer a delightful combination of old world charm, contemporary comfort, and modern technology. The spacious bathrooms are veritable in-room spas, complete with hydromassage shower, Turkish bath, and Chromotherapy.
Guests dining at the relais' intimate restaurant enjoy delicious contemporary versions of Lombardy's traditional mountain cuisine. Villa Brioschi's wine cellar houses an impressive selection of Italian wines and provides the ideal venue for professional sommelier-hosted wine tastings. The cellar also functions as a bar, serving an excellent variety of aperitifs and grappas.
The tea room, the reading room, the lounge with feature fireplace: each and every room in Relais Villa Brioschi has been designed to appeal to guests eager to experience a truly relaxing holiday amidst the mountains. In the summer season, the garden's solarium is the ideal place in which to bathe in the sunshine, surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Italian Alps.
